XJ6 คือรถซาลูนขนาดกลางของ Jaguar ในช่วงปลายยุค 1960s รถเปิดตัวในปี 1968 และอยู่ในสายการผลิตต่อเนื่องจนถึงปี 1992 โดยมีการปรับโฉมใหญ่ 2 ครั้ง XJ6 จึงแบ่งออกได้เป็น 3 เจเนอเรชั่นย่อยคือ Series 1 (1968-1973), Series 2 (1973-1979), และ Series 3 (1979-1992).

รถคันนี้คือ Jaguar XJ6 Series 1 ปี 1973 ซึ่งเป็นปีการผลิตท้ายสุดของ Series 1 รถออกจากโรงงานในรูปแบบตัวถัง Short Wheelbase พวงมาลัยขวา มาพร้อมกับเครื่องยนต์ XK ขนาด 4.2 ลิตร 6 สูบเรียง พร้อมเกียร์อัตโนมัติ Borg-Warner, พวงมาลัยเพาเวอร์, ดิสก์เบรก 4 ล้อ, ช่วงล่างอิสระทั้งสี่ล้อ และห้องโดยสารหนังแท้พร้อมตกแต่งลายไม้รอบคัน

ตัวรถภายนอกสีดำ ตัดกับภายในหนังสีเบจ ผ่านการบูรณะเต็มรูปแบบโดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญรถคลาสสิกชั้นนำด้วยงบประมาณรวมมากกว่า 1 ล้านบาท เพื่อฟื้นฟูสภาพรถให้กลับมาเหมือนใหม่โดยที่ยังเน้นคงความดั้งเดิมไว้ให้สมบูรณ์มากที่สุด พร้อมทั้งมีการปรับปรุงเพื่อการใช้งานในชีวิตประจำวัน เช่น ติดฟิล์มกรองแสง, เสริมพัดลมระบายความร้อนเครื่องยนต์เพื่อช่วยระบายความร้อนขณะขับใช้งานในช่วงกลางวัน และเพิ่มเข็มขัดนิรภัยที่ดูกลมกลืนเหมือนติดตั้งจากโรงงาน ภายในรถคงสภาพงานไม้และหนังภายในอยู่ในสภาพยอดเยี่ยม อุปกรณ์และระบบไฟฟ้าทั้งหมดใช้งานได้ครบถ้วน ตั้งแต่นาฬิกา มาตรวัดต่างๆ ระบบไฟส่องภายใน น้ำฉีดกระจก ไปจนถึงระบบปรับอากาศที่ทำความเย็นได้ดี

รถคันนี้จดทะเบียนในประเทศไทยครั้งแรกเมื่อเดือนกันยายน ปี 2516 จากนั้นได้มาอยู่ในความครอบครองของเจ้าของปัจจุบันมายาวนานกว่า 20 ปี โดยได้รับการดูแล เก็บรักษาอย่างดีในที่จอดรถใต้ดิน สตาร์ทรถและทำความสะอาดเป็นประจำทุกสัปดาห์ เพื่อคงสภาพให้พร้อมใช้งานอยู่เสมอ

The XJ6 was Jaguar’s mid size offering introduced in 1968 and stayed in production for 24 years till 1992. With two facelifts separating the XJ6 production into 3 distinct series from series 1 (1968-1973), Series 2 (1973-1979), และ Series 3 (1979-1992).

This example’s VIN indicates one of the latest production Series 1 built in 1973 with RHD and the XK 4.2L straight-six engine. Factory equipments include Borg-Warner automatic transmission, power steering, disc brakes on all four wheels, all independent suspension, and leather interior with wood veneers all around.

Finished in Black over Beige leather interior, this XJ6 has been fully restored by renowned classic car specialists with a total investment exceeding THB 1 million. The restoration focused on retaining originality, with modern driveability improvement additions like discreet window tint, an auxiliary cooling fan to handle daytime traffic driving, and seat belts that appear factory-fitted. The woodwork and leather upholstery are noted to be in exceptional condition, with all instrumentation and electrics functioning correctly from the clock to the fuel gauge, wipers, hazards, and cold air conditioning. The car’s exceptional condition is proven by local classic car magazine features and being displayed among the ‘Highlight Cars’ lineup at Amata Spring Classic d’Elegance.

This Jaguar was first registered in Thailand in September 1973 and has spent the past 20-plus years with its current owner, who has meticulously maintained it in an underground parking garage, starting it weekly and cleaning it regularly to preserve the car in good working order.
