This RHD 1971 Porsche 911T has been completely restored and reimagined into a faithful 1973 RSR 3.8 specification by its owner, achieving remarkable accuracy to the original RSR in both appearance and spirit.aIt pays tribute to one of Porsche’s most celebrated race cars, the 911 Carrera RSR 2.8, combining authentic period-correct craftsmanship with modern high-performance engineering.

The restoration began with a bare-metal rebuild of the body before fitting the distinctive RSR wide fenders. Every part was sourced new wherever possible, with only a few components carefully reconditioned when replacements were unavailable. The car was then finished in deep Porsche Arena Red, protected by a full paint protection film, and with period-correct livery on top.

Power comes from a 964-based 3.8-liter air-cooled flat-six engine built by Patrick Motorsport USA to a “Half-race” specification with MoTeC engine management. Exhaust gases flow through ceramic-coated RSR headers and sport mufflers that produce an unmistakable air-cooled tone. The result is a high-revving, naturally aspirated engine delivering around 400 wheel horsepower using the widely available E20 gasoline.

Performance is matched by Bilstein dampers and Elephant Racing suspension components, while Tuthill Porsche brakes provide confident stopping power. The car rides on 15-inch RSR-style Fuchs wheels fitted with Michelin TB15 classic racing tires.

Inside, the cabin follows a lightweight RSR concept with a half roll cage, bucket seats, and racing harnesses. A hidden Bluetooth sound system has been seamlessly integrated for modern comfort while maintaining the period-correct aesthetic.

Driven only 4,590 km since completion, this RSR 3.8 tribute reflects expert craftsmanship, precision engineering, and a deep respect for Porsche’s motorsport heritage. It represents the original RSR in a form that is lightweight, mechanical, visceral, and yet modernized for the Thai roads.
