Summary

This Rolex Day-Date reference 1803, dating to circa 1971–1972, presents an exceptionally unusual dial configuration within the model’s production.

Executed in silver sunburst, the dial features printed Roman numerals and matching black hands. While often associated with the “Buckley” category due to its printed Roman indexes, this example departs from the conventional Buckley format by omitting the railroad minute track and the use of smaller Roman numerals, resulting in a distinctly different aesthetic balance.

Endorsed by a prominent vintage Rolex collector, no other example with this exact dial configuration is currently known to have surfaced publicly.
