A rare X-leg easy chair by Pierre Jeanneret, designed for the Chandigarh project, circa 1960.

Originally produced for use within Chandigarh’s official offices and university interiors, the chair reflects Jeanneret’s enduring approach to modern furniture: practical, architectural, and deeply connected to its place of use.

The chair features an original teak frame, distinguished by its X-leg structure and clear geometric balance. Its form carries the quiet strength associated with Jeanneret’s Chandigarh works, where utility and proportion were treated with equal importance.

This example has been reupholstered in black horsehide, adding depth, texture, and a more refined material character while preserving the integrity of the original frame.
