1961 Morris Mini (MK1)

Mini เป็นรถคลาสสิกสัญชาติอังกฤษระดับตำนาน รถรุ่นแรกสุดหรือที่เรียกกันว่า Mk1 (Mark 1) ผลิตตั้งแต่ 1959 จนถึงปี 1967 โดยสองบริษัทในเครือ British Motor Corporation คือ Austin และ Morris ในชื่อ Austin Seven และ Morris Mini Minor ตามลำดับ

รถ Mini ออกแบบโดย Sir Alec Issigonis มาพร้อมกับเทคนิคและนวัตกรรมโดดเด่นมากมายที่ต่อมาได้กลายมาเป็นมาตรฐานการออกแบบรถยนต์ขนาดเล็ก เช่นการวางเครื่องยนต์ตามขวาง และการใช้ล้อขนาดเล็กที่ถูกวางตำแหน่งสุดมุมรถ ทั้งหมดทำให้ Mini เป็นรถที่พื้นที่ใช้สอยภายในกว้างขวางและนั่งสี่คนได้จริงถึงแม้ว่ารถจะยาวเพียง 3 เมตรเท่านั้น

คันนี้เป็นรถ Morris Mini Minor Mk1 ซึ่งจะมีเอกลักษณ์โดดเด่นกว่ารุ่นหลังๆอย่างเช่นกระจังหน้าแบบ “Moustache” บานพับประตูอยู่ด้านนอกรถ กระจกหน้าต่างแบบสไลด์​ เรือนไมล์อยู่ตรงกลางแดชบอร์ด และไฟท้ายทรงรีขนาดเล็ก

รถ Mk1 คันนี้จดทะเบียนในประเทศไทยตั้งแต่ปี 1961 ใช้เครื่องยนต์ขนาด 848 cc. แบบดั้งเดิม รถคันนี้อยู่ในการครอบครองของเจ้าของปัจจุบันมาตั้งแต่ปี 2001 โดยผ่านการฟื้นฟูสภาพทั้งหมดมาแล้วจากเจ้าของเดิม ตั้งแต่ภายนอกทำสีฟ้าอ่อน ภายในมีการหุ้มมาใหม่ รวมไปถึงเปลี่ยนจากเกียร์ธรรมดาไปเป็นเกียร์อัตโนมัติ ในปัจจุบันรถสีรถมีการเสื่อมสภาพตามกาลเวลา มีผดในบางจุด แต่โดยรวมแล้วยังอยู่ในสภาพพร้อมใช้ เลขระยะทางอยู่ที่ 60506 ไมล์

The Mini is a legendary British classic car. The very first generation, known as the MK1 (Mark 1), was produced from 1959 to 1967 by two companies under the British Motor Corporation: Austin and Morris, marketed as the Austin Seven and Morris Mini Minor respectively.

Designed by Sir Alec Issigonis, the Mini introduced numerous groundbreaking techniques and innovations that had later become standard practice in small car design. Notable among these were the transverse engine layout and the positioning of small wheels at the extreme corners of the vehicle. These engineering choices resulted in a remarkably spacious interior that could genuinely accommodate four passengers despite the vehicle's modest 3-meter length.

This particular vehicle is a Morris Mini Minor MK1, which features distinctive characteristics that set it apart from later models such as the iconic "Moustache" front grille, external door hinges, sliding windows, a centrally positioned speedometer on the dashboard, and small oval-shaped taillights.

This MK1 has been registered in Thailand since 1961 and retains its original 848 cc engine. The current owner has possessed this vehicle since 2001, though it underwent a complete restoration under a previous ownership with the exterior finished in a light blue paint scheme, complemented by a reupholstered interior in Tan.

The restoration also extended to the mechanicals with a notable modification being the conversion from manual to automatic transmission. Currently, the paintwork shows some age-related deterioration with spotting/rash in side areas, but overall the vehicle remains in roadworthy condition. The odometer reads 60,506 miles.
