The Silver Shadow was Rolls-Royce's pivot into the modern automotive era while maintaining its uncompromising standards of luxury and craftsmanship. Produced between 1965 and 1980, this all-new saloon replaced the traditional Silver Cloud with new benchmarks that luxury motoring brands worldwide would strive to emulate for decades to come.

The Silver Shadow's most notable feature was the introduction of the high-pressure hydropneumatic suspension system, licensed from Citroën but extensively modified and refined by Rolls-Royce engineers. This remarkable system provided the "magic carpet ride" that became the hallmark of the model. The brand new unibody construction provided more interior space even with the smaller external dimensions.

This particular Silver Shadow I belongs to the early, first 10,000 unit of production. It left the Crewe factory in October 1970, finished in Velvet Green over Brown interior, and benefited from the then-newly-introduced upgraded 6,750cc V8 engine coupled with the Turbo Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission.

Imported to Thailand in 1997, this Silver Shadow has enjoyed the privilege of residing in several of the country's well-known collections. Under the previous ownership, this Rolls-Royce was serviced and comprehensively restored at Rolls-Royce dealership at the time (AAS) with the focus to preserve the originality of the car.

Currently, the car is well presented with the bodywork in good condition. The reupholstered cabin shows minimal wear with all the wood veneers and wool carpets intact. The powertrain runs smooth and quiet, and the hydropneumatic suspension works as intended. The odometer reads 75,757 miles at the time of documenting. This modest usage, combined with fastidious care throughout its life, has preserved both its mechanical integrity and aesthetic splendor for continued enjoyment in the years to come.
