The Jaguar 420G represented the pinnacle of Jaguar road cars during a golden era of automotive design. Available from 1961 to 1970, it was originally called the Mark X, then renamed to 420G in 1966. This flagship saloon established Jaguar's definitive design language with its distinctive four-headlamp and its upright grille arrangement, an iconic aesthetic that would influence the marque's identity for decades to follow.

Beyond its striking appearance, the Mark X/420G was an advanced car for the time, featuring: monocoque construction, four-wheel disc brakes, DOHC engine, and fully independent suspension, an uncommon feature even among top luxury brands of the time. This 420G is a RHD, automatic car that left the Coventry factory in May 1970. The commission was for the Thai market, and the car was first registered in Thailand in January 1971. The current registration indicates it has remained with a single owner since that time. Under current ownership, the exterior was refinished in its Azure Blue color. Most remarkably, the beige interior is said to be original and unrestored with all the cabin's wood veneers, leather upholstery, and instrumentation preserved in exceptional condition.

Under the bonnet, this 420G still retains its numbers-matching 4.2-liter XK engine breathing through triple carburetors like it would in an E-Type, paired with its Borg Warner 3-speed automatic transmission. Minor modifications were made in the form of an air-conditioning system to let the owner enjoy the car in the warm Bangkok climate.

With just 5,542 examples produced during its four-year production run as the 420G, this model stands among the rarer offerings from Jaguar's illustrious history.
